Power Networking for Success

Janet Kuypers performed portions of the two pieces “Type A Person” and “Communication” (portions of the original piece and the ‘05 version) during the Power Networking for Success event (at a program “designed to motivate and enlighten you,” sponsored by Will Horton). This event is $10.00 to the general public, but free for the first 100 registered VIP guests and registered Chicago State University faculty and staff with I.D. (and people could email Will Horton and state that they were Janet Kuypers’ invited guest, and they would also receive a complimentary VIP pass). The event featured not only hors d’oeuvres, conversation & connections, but also art museum-collected sculptor and painter Debra Hand, a performance by gospel recording artist Tracy Worth, and live jazz music (to relax your mind) by Walter “Piano Man” English III. Kuypers was thrilled to have a ~8 minute set close to 7:00 of communication and thought it was fn that she was able to be a part of this evening of power networking for success.
Because this was only an 8 minute set, and Kuypershad origianl background music from John Yotko being performed during her show, she greatly edited both Type A Person and Communication to fit the length, and by the night beofre the show they practiced the pieces a number of times. On this page is not only the final performance pieces, but also the practice sessions the night before (10/14/10) (which follow the show listings).
