HeliumJanet Kuypersfrom the “Periodic Table of Poetry” series 4/17/12
I couldn’t help it.
You seemed so content, so light,
Whenever I see you outside,
But I didn’t realize
But being near you made me giddy,
But only now I learn
So maybe
I think you’re truly unique,
I’d have to
you’re not as special
I couldn’t help it.
I’m always so tense,
you’ve calmed me down
I avoided the fact
you could help me -
I just have to remember
I can literally breathe you in,
